Art Box Classes
This 9-14 years program is designed for older primary school children who want to develop technique, self-expression and have fun. Each term, children will explore a topic that will introduce them to artists, techniques, mediums, correct terminology and art-making processes. As drawing is fundamental to artistic expression, there will be a strong focus on observational drawing where students will learn how to apply design elements such as line, tone, shape, colour and perspective to enhance their artworks. During the term children will explore a wide range of mediums and processes, including charcoal, water-colour, acrylic, pastels, collage, clay, and loose parts to create 2D and 3D works of art.
The prep-grade 2 class is a fun-filled program designed for lower primary school children. Children will be introduced to artists, techniques, materials and art-making processes whilst exploring an over-arching theme throughout the term. Children will paint, draw, sculpt and craft in a relaxed and supportive environment with like-minded creative children. Throughout the term children will explore a wide range of mediums and processes including charcoal, water-colour, acrylic, pastels, collage, clay, and loose parts to create 2D and 3D works of art.
The pre-prep program is designed for children who are planning to attend school in the following year. Linked with literacy, this fun-filled hour-long art session begins with a story that sets up the theme for the session. Children will express ideas and communicate meaning through painting, drawing, crafting and creating, whilst developing their social and emotional skills. This program follows the Early Years Learning Framework and aims to support children to be confident and involved learners in a supportive and nurturing environment.
